How is my “I couldn’t care less” approach to golf working out?

Good and not so good. Last Sunday in a 30 mile per hour wind, it worked great hitting the ball downwind, into the wind. It was like that old paddle board you may have had as a kid. The one with a little rubber ball attached to a rubber band, and stapled to the paddle. You whacked it, and it came right back at you

The object was to keep it going with the paddle, sort of like one person ping pong. Well, that’s exactly what it was like hitting a golf ball into the wind – only it wasn’t attached to a rubber band. It just responded like it was, coming almost back to the spot where it was hit.

That tested my “I couldn’t care less” attitude. I found myself caring too much. Not good! The more I cared, the harder I tried, and the worse it got.

Anyway 93 in a 30 mile per hour wind is what it is. A test in futility, and as former golfing great Johnny Miller stated: “Golf is an imperfect game.”
