In case you missed the list when it was first published, Rolling Stone magazine polled many of the big names in Rock and Roll last year and asked them who they thought were the top tunesmiths in recording history…

The voters included the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Alicia Keys and many other accomplished recording stars, along with a host of  journalists and industry insiders.

The votes were tabulated, making sure no “hanging chads” were overlooked; the results were revealed and the one hundred names were listed as the finest of the fine, the best of the best and the grooviest of the groovy.

Here are the TOP TEN along with their biggest hit as a solo artist:
