The Beatles Calendar — April 14th

0521 The Beatles Calendar April 14th

On April 14, 1963, before both the [lastfm]Beatles[/lastfm] or the [lastfm]Rolling Stones[/lastfm] had even been heard about in the United States, they met for the first time!  It was right after the Stone’s performance at a concert in Richmond, England.

Little did they know that BOTH of their groups would go on to become two of the all-time biggest rock ‘n’ roll music bands in the history of the WORLD!!!

Three years later, to the day, on April 14th of 1966, [lastfm]The Beatles[/lastfm] were in the studio recording their next hit and 12th number one song since Beatlemania hit the U.S. in early 1964.  “Paperback Writer” was being sung by John, Paul, George and Ringo and getting ready to be (music term) “put in the can.”   That summer of 1966, it would hit the top spot in the country.

Finally, on this day in Beatle history, ONE YEAR AGO, [lastfm]George Harrison[/lastfm] received a posthumous star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

George was only the 2nd Beatle to achieve the honor.

[lastfm]John Lennon[/lastfm] was first, then George, and recently [lastfm]Ringo Starr[/lastfm]‘s star was added.

Now, only [lastfm]Paul McCartney[/lastfm] is without one, though it has already been approved.

Word is, that should happen any time now.  If only Paul could start slowing down a bit and get some TIME in his schedule to attend the unveiling.  You KNOW that THAT day, the streets of Hollywood will be totally JAMMED!
