Huntington Beach — Rare, candid never before published photographs of The Beatles will be unveiled at The Rock & Roll Emporium this Wednesday, April 21, to coincide with the Surf City Art Walk.

These never before published photographs of The Fab Four were taken at a press conference held at the Capitol Records building in Hollywood, CA on Sunday August 28, 1966.

The Beatles were in L.A. that day accepting their Gold RIAA awards for one million advanced sales of their latest album, “Revolver”. They were also scheduled to perform their next-to-last live concert that night at Dodger Stadium.

Andrew Kirby, Managing Partner of The Rock and Roll Emporium, said, “A customer of ours brought these photographs to our attention. He told us he found some ‘pretty cool Beatles photos he had forgotten he had for the past 44 years and brought them in to show us. We were pretty amazed at what we saw. I had seen some other shots from this conference, but never these particular shots. The expressions are pretty telling about what was happening at this particular time in Beatle history.”

These images show the Beatles at a difficult time in their career, even though their future was very bright and about to change dramatically. With their decision to stop touring, and work only in the studio, the Beatles were in the process of reinventing themselves, a generation, and the world of music.

These limited edition images will be available for purchase starting April 21 and continuing through June 21, while supplies last. The images are direct negative to photographic print processing and numbered with a certificate of authenticity.
