immigration Arizona Gets The Cold Shoulder From L.A. Over New Immigration Law

L.A. City Council voted to end a working relationship with the state of Arizona due to their brand new immigration law.

What does this mean for you? Keep reading to find out.Today, the City of Los Angeles voted to ban any further contracts and most travel to Arizona due to the adoption of their new Immigration law. Arizona’s new law goes into effect on July 23 and will require police to ask for the identification papers of anyone they suspect may lack legal citizenship. Critics say this will lead to racial profiling and is similar to S.S. officers asking people for their papers in Nazi Germany.

L.A. City Councilman Ed Reyes explained his problem with the law saying:

As an American, I cannot go to Arizona today without a passport. If I come across an officer who’s having a bad day and feels that the picture on my ID is not me, I can be … deported, no questions asked. That is not American.

The law passed 13-1, with Councilman Greig Smith casting the sole dissenting vote. Failure to dissolve all working relationships with the state of Arizona occurred because it could put a dent in jobs here in Los Angeles, and we know there’s far too few of them as it is.

Do you agree that Arizona’s immigration law is unconstitutional, and even worse similar to the tactics of Nazi Germany? Let us know in the comments!

I think those who are appose the arizona imagration bill have love ones who helping bring in the illigals themselves! I have no problems to those who want to come into this country as long as they do it the legal way! Those who love Mexico so much would not in their life time ever consider living there themselves! Like the old saying goes, those who are not proud of this country can LEAVE anytime they want! You won’t be miss! Adios!

i do not agree this kind of law.. a passport in your own country? that is very pathetic. In my point of view they should think of more reasonable law to solve whatever problem they have right now.

I am ashamed of the LA City Council and will be planning a vacation to beautiful Arizona soon. Kudos to AZ for not letting illegal immigration slide as much as it has!! Why are WE showing support for illegal immigration?

NO, cops can’t pull people over for the color of their skin, or even the color of their hair. Get over it. Cops are under close watch at all times… cameras, even microphones. Nobody’s going to put their job in jeopardy like that.
