[lastfm]Cyndi Lauper[/lastfm] is ready for the release of her upcoming album Memphis Blues. Her newest single “Early In The Mornin” has a bluesy sound that embodies the deep South and also features the great [lastfm]B.B. King[/lastfm] and [lastfm]Allen Toussant[/lastfm].

It doesn’t matter what sound [lastfm]Cyndi Lauper[/lastfm] tries out, she still seems to captivate us with her classic voice. According to People, Cyndi Lauper said:

Everything I ever sang, from jazz to rock to pop to dance, is based on rhythm and blues. I looked at what was going on in our country and I really felt like everybody’s singing the blues, so I needed to take the blues music and make it uplifting.
