102187241 The City Stops For The Lakers

Looking for an excuse to skip out on work this Monday? The city is pretty much shutting down for the LA Lakers parade Monday morning, and really, what’s more important than seeing all the championship players riding in a float down Fig? Get all the details for the Lakers parade here!

The riots have dispersed, fireworks have fizzled out, but the city is still celebrating the back to back championship wins by our beloved LA Lakers! See all the players, coaches, staff and lovely Laker Girls this Monday morning (June 21st) in a local fan parade!

Starting at 11 a.m., players will make their way from the Staples Center traveling south on Figueroa Street to Jefferson Boulevard just north of the USC campus and Galen Center.

According to the official Lakers’ website, fans can expect to see “A convoy of double-decker, open-air buses and other attending vehicles will carry Lakers coaches and staff, members of the Buss family ownership group, team officials, and the Laker Girls to the conclusion of the two-mile route.”

Get more details of the route, parking, road closures and more from the official parade website.  Make sure to wear your brightest purple and gold and join the hordes of fans downtown for the celebration.  Go Lakers!

I am outraged, how in the world can the city put together a parade if everyone is pinching their pennies, WHY DON’T THE PLAYERS PAY FOR THEIR OWN RIDICULOUS PARADE, THIS IS BULL SH&%!!!!!! You people should be ashamed of yourselves, there are people dying of hunger in Haiti, Africa, Mexico, all around the world and YOUR PARADE IS MORE PRECIOUS THAN ANYTHING ELSE. YOU ARE ALL SELFISH. FOR SHAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PUT THAT MONEY INTO SCHOOLS, AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAMS, ETC. USE IT FOR SOMETHING POSITIVE.
