madonna Better & Richer With Age

This just in: Our favorite list-makers at Forbes have just compiled the latest figures on which musicians make the most moolah. Who is it?? How much do they make?? Will I get a raise this week?

Find out the answer to (most of) those questions after the jump.

Forbes released the Top-Earning Musicians of 2010 list this weekend, and if you were able to listen to music in the 1990s, you should have no problem recognizing the majority of the names on the list:

Coming in at Number 10 is supergroup the [lastfm]Black Eyed Peas[/lastfm], with an annual earning of $48 Million and grossing nearly $800,000 on their latest world tour alone.

At Number 9: Country singer [lastfm]Kenny Chesney [/lastfm]with $50 Million. Chesney was the only country singer to make the Top Ten, and with an average concert tour grossing that is double that of rival [lastfm]Keith Urban[/lastfm], it’s easy to see why Chesney is the top dog of honky-tonk.

Number 8: The Pop Queen, [lastfm]Madonna[/lastfm]. This “Material Girl” got her start in the 1980s with hits like this:

And [lastfm]Madonna[/lastfm] solidified her power when hit tv show Glee did a Madonna-themed episode:

Number 7: [lastfm]Lady Gaga[/lastfm] Gaga is the only artist in the Top Ten to have gotten their fame in the last 10 years. With the craziest outfits and most bizarre videos we’ve ever seen (and liked), this “Poker Face” performer has wracked up $62 million in annual earnings, $95 million in touring, and is one of the best walking advertisements known to man.

Number 6: [lastfm]Jay-Z[/lastfm], the one-man empire. Though Jay-Z got his start in music, with tunes like “99 Problems,” it is his investments in everything from nightclubs, to Broadway, to basketball that have helped this mogul earn $63 million annually.

Number 5: [lastfm]Britney Spears[/lastfm], one of the first Pop Princesses keeps producing hits like she produces drama. As one who grew up with her first album, I find myself just as addicted to her music today.

Number 4: [lastfm]Bruce Springsteen[/lastfm] It’s always a pleasure to see that The Boss is still making waves in the industry. Springsteen sold more than 2 million tickets on his world tour, which grossed $167 million, enough to make it the third highest-grossing tour in the world which helps bring him to an annual earning average of $70 Million.

Number 3: [lastfm]Beyonce[/lastfm], one-third of the phenomenal Destiny’s Child, has managed to make an average of $87 million dollars annually as a “Single Lady.”

Number 2: [lastfm]AC/DC[/lastfm] with $114 million annual earnings. The Australian rock group had an extremely successful world tour, with 99 dates, and with decades of smash hits like “Back in Black” and “Hells Bells”, these guys will be on the Highway to Green for many years to come.

And Numero Uno: [lastfm]U2[/lastfm] with a whopping $130 million in annual earnings. It is hard to find anything wrong with this group, with hit after hit on top of a worldwide tour in which each stop brings in $10 million in gross ticket sales, on top of outstanding humanitarian efforts. They pretty much rock.

[lastfm]AC/DC [/lastfm]and[lastfm] U2 [/lastfm] are some of the biggest names and longest lasting groups in American rock. Because they have had decades to perfect their acts (and they have), get millions of fans behind them, and continually add money to their banks from album sales, cassette tape sales, cd sales, concert ticket sales, endorsements and who knows what else.
