For a man who just hit 70, [lastfm]Tom Jones[/lastfm] is showing little sign of slowing down. And, he’s certainly now mellowing out, if his latest album Praise & Blame is any indication. Billed as an exploration into the Gospel and Blues genres which have influenced him throughout his life, the album explores a darker side to Jones and is being hailed as some of the finest work of his career.

Including covers of tunes by [lastfm]Bob Dylan[/lastfm], [lastfm]Susan Werner[/lastfm] and[lastfm] John Lee Hooker[/lastfm]’s “Burning Hell,” the album also contains extremely personal original songs penned by Tom Jones. [lastfm]Booker T Jones[/lastfm], [lastfm]Gillian Welsh[/lastfm] and [lastfm]Dave Rawlings[/lastfm] (among others) each add texture in their slots as supporting vocalists.
