Julia Roberts Believes in Aging Gracefully

Ancient art, classical poetry, the cover of a current Vogue magazine; all agree on one undeniable thing-women have been celebrated as idols of beauty in many forms throughout the ages. Eat, Pray, Love star Julia Roberts thinks that women should embrace their natural beauty, including their aging beauty, letting nature gracefully work her art on women instead of letting a surgeon do his art with a knife.

“It’s unfortunate that we live in such a panicked, dysmorphic society where women don’t even give themselves a chance to see what they’ll look like as older persons. I want to have some idea of what I’ll look like before I start cleaning the slates.”

Julie Roberts also wants to make sure her children know what she looks like, so they’ll remember the story their mother’s face has to tell:

“I want my kids to know when I’m pissed, when I’m happy and when I’m confounded. Your face tells a story and it shouldn’t be a story about your drive to the doctor’s office.”

We don’t think her 3-year-old son Henry and 5-year-old twins Phinnaeaus and Hazel will ever forget that face. Or that their mother has been an inspiration of grace, goodness and glamour to women all over the world.
