Celebrate Yourself And Unleash Your True Passions

Recently, we had a chat at a bar about our favorite books with a stay-at-home Mom. At the end of the conversation, she thanked us for reminding her what she “used” to be passionate about. She promised to start reading and writing again…like she “used” to. Do you feel that way too? Well, start living your life with passion again! We’ve got three important questions to help you start your journey towards following your dreams.

  • Passion Point #1: What are you deeply passionate about?

Remember when you were a child and you would become completely obsessed with the same color, television show, or sports activity? Scour your subconscious. What makes you feel like that now? What do you daydream about? What can you get wrapped up in without getting stressed out or feeling bored? Oftentimes, whatever you are passionate about has been something you’ve dreamt about for a long time. What was 5-year-old you passionate about?

  • Passion Point #2: What comes to you naturally?

If you’ve got it, flaunt it! If you are naturally skilled at something, consider using that talent. Just because it comes easily doesn’t mean that it’s not worthwhile. Our culture is so obsessed with working hard that sometimes we forego happiness based on using our real talents to satisfy a social standard. While you may not adhere to many tenets of Eastern philosophy, Buddha was right about one thing: follow the path of least resistance. You will be infinitely happier while having time and energy for some of your other passions.

  • Passion Point #3: What can you make a living at?

It’s sad, but true. You still need to make some dough. While pursuing a creative passion and making money don’t necessarily go together, figure out ways to make money from your endeavors. If you are a blogger with decent success, you can get advertising money on your blog. If you are an aspiring chef, you can contribute to bake sales or do mini-catering jobs. Are you a burlesque dancer that makes your own costumes? Sell one-of-a-kind hats and fans on places like Etsy. Whatever your service is, there is someone out there that wants to invest in it. Trust us.

Let us know–what are some of your dreams and what are you passionate about?
