LA’s Celebrity Doughnut: The Maple Glazed Bacon Donut At The Nickel Diner

Los Angeles and Orange County are sort of a nirvana for doughnut lovers. We have more doughnut shops in our area than almost all the other cities in the USA, and it’s no secret that we love our doughnuts here in SoCal.  But did you know that one of our doughnuts is famous among foodies and is known nationwide?

One of the USA’s biggest doughnut stars is a gourmet doughnut created right here in LA. You can find it at the Nickel Diner on Main Street in Downtown Los Angeles. It’s the Maple Glazed Bacon Doughnut, and it tastes as good as it looks. You can quote me on that because I had two of them this Sunday with a couple of friends who also ordered several of them. Here’s what it looks like.

Yum! The Nickel Diner is also known among foodies for it’s fabulous breakfast menu. Everything is prepared in house from scratch (the way it should be!) and there’s always a crowd there on weekends. It’s worth the wait! Check out their BBQ Pork Hash with Poached Eggs.

Mmm, mmm, good! They also have a really cool looking retro interior with some graphics on the wall that look like they’re from the 1960’s. I mean, wasn’t that when Hamburgers were 25 cents?

Everything that my friends and I ordered was delicious! They even ordered more desserts to take home. I just waddled out and drove home happy. So, check out Nickel Diner the next time you feel like going out for brunch. But get there early because they don’t serve pancakes after 12 noon!
