“For Karl, who strung me along, thanx, John Lennon, 1980.”  Those are the words of the last note John Lennon probably  ever wrote, just hours before his death.  That note is now for sale and is worth $154,000.

The thank you note was written to a sound technician who helped John borrow a guitar string at the Record Plant Studio in New York City while recording there.  It was only hours later that John returned to his home and was shot.

The note is up for auction on the memorabilia website momentsintime.org.
