1976 – [lastfm]Jerry Lee Lewis[/lastfm] accidentally shot his bass player Norman Owens in the chest while celebrating his own birthday while firing holes through an office door. Owens survived but sued.

1984 – [lastfm]Prince[/lastfm]’s “Let’s Go Crazy” began its two week run as the number one song in the U.S.

1999 – [lastfm]Aretha Frankin[/lastfm] was awarded with a National Metal of Arts by President Clinton.

2004 – It was reported by The Sun that [lastfm]Michael Jackson[/lastfm] had a secret fourth child.
