This year marked the 50th anniversary of the Hollywood Walk Of Fame which began on the corner of Hollywood & Highland.  As the year of celebration comes to and end, a time capsule will be buried tomorrow Thursday, October 28th, with various items placed inside.

The fully sealed stainless steel capsule measures 16x16x18 will be filled with various items collected by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, which will represent each of the five categories of the Walk of Fame: motion picture, broadcast television, audio recording, broadcast radio and theater/live performance.

In addition, a piece of [lastfm]Elvis Presley[/lastfm]’s star from Johnny Grant’s (who was the honorary mayor of Hollywood) personal collection and a DVD with the ceremony of [lastfm]Ringo Starr[/lastfm] receiving his star on the Walk of Fame on February 8th, the event that kicked off the 50th anniversary celebrations.

Mark your calendars now for the year 2060, when the capsule will be opened!
