The “Tickets@Two” song is by the group [lastfm]Free[/lastfm] and their hit “All Right Now,” which came about as the result of a bad gig in Durham, England.

Free was known for mostly slow to medium paced blues songs, which didn’t seem to respond well with the crowd. Free drummer Tom Mautner said: “We finished our show and walked off stage to the sound of our own footsteps.”

They had a meeting in the dressing room and came to the conclusion that they needed something more up-tempo to please the audience, that’s how “All Right Now” came into being.

This is the first hit song (#4 on the chart) with vocals by Paul Rodgers. He later joined [lastfm]Bad Company[/lastfm] and also played with [lastfm]The Firm[/lastfm] and [lastfm]Queen[/lastfm]. When Rodgers teamed up with Queen in 2004 to tour as Queen + Paul Rodgers, this was a regular part of their set list and a crowd favorite.

When you hear it play between 2 and 3 this afternoon and happen to be the 12th caller, you’ll win a gift certificate to T.G.I. Fridays: 1-800-232-KRTH (5784)
