Did You Know: Carole King's "I Feel The Earth Move"

Today’s ‘Tickets @ Two’ is a mover from [lastfm]Carole King[/lastfm]! “I Feel the Earth Move,” was her first release from the Tapestry album.

It was produced by Lou Adler who also produced [lastfm]The Mamas & The Papas[/lastfm], and early hits for Jan & Dean. He’s also the guy if you attend or watch Lakers games on TV sitting next to Jack Nicholson in those pricey court side floor seats!

King’s voice in a review in Rolling Stone was described as “raunchy” to “bluesy” to “harsh” to “soothing.” My take is make up your mind! “I Feel the Earth Move” went all the way to # 1, it doesn’t get any better than that no matter what you call it.

When we play it between two and three be caller # 7 and you’ll win tickets to see the Rockettes at either Honda Center, or Club Nokia. 1-800-232-KRTH. (5784)

If I remember correctly, I first heard Carole’s “I Feel The Earth Move” shortly after the 1971 Sylmar Earthquake and I remember thinking that song’s title and lyric was inspired by that seismic event.
