Todays ‘Tickets @ Two’ song to listen for is [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Al Green[/lastfm]’s “You Ought To Be With Me.”

Al formed a Gospel quartet in the mid-1950s with his brothers. They called themselves the [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Green Brothers[/lastfm].

As of 1976, not only did Green own his own Memphis church, he was a fully ordained pastor with the Full Gospel Tabernacle Church.

In 1995, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Led Zeppelin[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Janis Joplin[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Frank Zappa[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Neil Young[/lastfm] and the [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Allman Brothers Band[/lastfm]. [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Natalie Cole[/lastfm] was his presenter.

He credits [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Sam Cooke[/lastfm] and the [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Soul Stirrers[/lastfm] as major influences.
