Elton John May Perform At The Royal Wedding

In a true modern-day fairy tale, the whole world’s eyes were on the royal couple Prince William and princess-to-be Kate Middleton after they made their engagement official. As the day quickly approaches to the set wedding date on April 29th, there’s no doubt the world will be watching as they say their “I do’s” in an elegant ceremony sure to be a royal affair.

So who better to entertain England’s royalty than a knighted musician who famously sang in honor for Prince William’s mother, Princess Diana, after her death? And according to [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Elton John[/lastfm], he’s on board to grace the royal family with a performance.

Years after performing a personal version of his hit “Candle in the Wind” at Princess Diana’s untimely funeral, Sir [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Elton John[/lastfm] may be performing for England’s aristocracy once again, but this time under joyful circumstances.

When asked if he’d be performing at the royal wedding, Elton responded, “I probably am,” before quickly joking, “I’ll probably be busking outside.”

It makes sense that he’d he entertain at the wedding since he has long relationship with the royal family, but that doesn’t mean he’ll be writing much about them once he takes the role of guest editor for the Independent newspaper.

“There’s not going to be much about the royal wedding in there,” he says. “I think we’ve had enough of that for the time being.”
