david arquette Entertainment Report: David Arquette Checks Into Rehab For Alcohol and Depression

Sadly, David Arquette — estranged husband of Courteney Cox — checked himself into rehab after admitting his life is falling apart since his split with Courteney. He’s entered rehab for depression and alcohol abuse.

Usually the new year means becoming a “new you,” and our friend David Arquette must have that motive in mind now that he’s made the decision to check into rehab. After separating from his star wife in October, Arquette’s life has been on a downward spiral and he isn’t handling the breakup well.

He checked into rehab on New Year’s Day, but wants to make it clear that it isn’t because of drug use, but for help with his serious alcohol issues. Maybe this is just what Arquette needs to do to repair his relationship with Courteney Cox, who completely supports David for getting help.

Paula Abdul has a brain, just ask her. She sits down with Julie Chen to talk about her new show, Live To Dance which premiers tomorrow night at 8 on CBS.

She tells Chen, “I am intelligent. I have a brain, that’s a concept yes…I have a brain.” If that sentence doesn’t make sense in writing, just hear the way she says it during the interview. We’re not sure if we believe her when she says she doesn’t have a drug or alcohol problem…

Over the holidays there were a plethora of engagements, marriages, and even a baby. Starting with the surprises, Elton John became a father after his hired surrogate mother gave birth to his son. Surprise #2, Shania Twain got married on New Year’s Day to her ex-husband’s new wife’s (who happens to be her best friend) ex-husband, Frédéric Thiébaud.

The situation sounds bizarre, but the couple is now happily married after a beautiful ceremony in Puerto Rico. Other celebrity surprises include Valerie Bertinelli finally tying the knot with Tom Vitale, along with Resse Witherspoon, Leanne Rhymes, and the expecting Natalie Portman all announcing their engagements. Celebs sure were busy over the holidays!

HAVING DONE A LOT (!) OF “HOMELESS OUTREACH” to US MILITARY VETERANS in all of Ventura County, southern half of Santa Barbara County, then truck stops from ‘El-Lay’ to Kern County line — out of V-A in West LA == IT TAKES A LOT FOR SOMEONE TO ADMIT “I NEED HELP”! That is a start for THIS YOUNG MAN! I SHALL PRAY DEARLY THAT HE SUCCEEDS!

I wish David well and that he overcomes his problem quickly. It’s good to see that he has admitted that he has a problem and that hopefully he is serious about overcoming it. Good luck Dave! Our thoughts are with you and Courtney and your daughter Coco.
