As part of star-studded artist collaboration of the famous 1986 hit “That’s What Friends Are For,” the song’s singers are reuniting once more for a good cause at amfAR’s New York Gala benefit at Cipriani Wall Street.

The superstar singers will reunite for the special performance of the unofficial theme song for amfAR “That What Friends Are For” at the benefit gala on February 9.

The song, which was originally written by famed lyricists Carole Bayer Sager and Burt Bacharach, was released in 1986 as a benefit single on the label Arista.

Warwick gathered the singers and writers to donate their portion of the single to the charity and helped raise $3 million for the foundation. The President of Arista, Clive Ownes, also donated his portion to the charity.

The reunion of all the “friends” at the benefit isn’t the only the foundation has in store; they’re also honoring President Bill Clinton, Diane von Furstenberg, and two of the foundation’s co-founders, Dr. Mathilde Krim and Elizabeth Taylor at the gala next month.

For a little nostalgia, here are the pals all together singing the song back in 1986.

“That’s What Friends Are For” is a great song and I still have that record; I remember buying it back when it first came out in 85 or 86. A song that reminds us how important “GENUINE FRIENDS” are in our lives, right? Right Fiona? Fiona? Fiona? Oh well.
