Today’s ‘Tickets @ 2’ hit is [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]George Benson[/lastfm]’s version of “On Broadway.” Originally done by [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]The Drifters[/lastfm], it was a familiar collaboration between Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller, and the also successful team of Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil. Another hit that came out of the “Brill Building” in New York.

Grammy winner George Benson is known for his “Breezin'” jazz styling, when George would sing this in concert, the audience would cheer loudly after the line “‘Cause I can play this here guitar.”

And he can really play! When we play it between two and three be caller #29 at 1-800-232-KRTH. (5784) to win K-Earth, Wind, & Fire tickets!

Do I know George Benson’s “On Broadway”; no, but if you hum a few bars then maybe I’ll recognize it (oh, that was lame!!)
