There are several reasons why this year’s Academy Awards will be bigger than ever, including eight new changes in store for Sunday night’s ceremony. Some of the changes will include tweeting moms of Oscar nominees, an entire school choir, virtual reality set, and no more movie montages.

There will be a few changes to the Oscars award show this season, starting with a new virtual reality set to give the show a constantly changing look and the first time opposite sexes are hosting the ceremony. Also another first for this year, moms of Oscar nominees will be tweeting back and forth to users during the show on the “mominees” Twitter account (but tweet them nicely, they are the mothers of Oscar nominees!).

A full school choir from PS22 in Staten Island, NY will also be featured on the show this year singing “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.” Plus, no more movie montages and the return of nominated song performances can be look forward to this year!

Why didn’t they add a ninth change to the Oscars, like making it an hour and a half shorter? (that would help, ha! ha!).

It’s a shame I’m going to miss all that because, “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” is one of my favorites. I’ve watched “The Wizard of Oz” several times (seen it at least a dozen times during childhood) and dreamt of watching it with my family and Fiona one day in California. A hell of a dream, believe me!

PS22 from Staten Island New York would have been interesting to watch. There’s always Yoututbe I guess.
