For Legoland USA tickets on ‘Tickets @ 2,’ be caller # 14 when you hear “Fame” by [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]David Bowie[/lastfm].

This song is obviously written about what it’s like to be famous. [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]John Lennon[/lastfm] helped write the song — he came up with the title and also sang the background “Fame” parts in the high voice.

They started working on the song together when Bowie invited Lennon to the studio, and Lennon played rhythm guitar on a jam session that resulted in the track. Bowie met Lennon at a party thrown by Elizabeth Taylor. Lennon was one of Bowie’s idols, and they became good friends.

Bowie often had conversations with Lennon about how fame took away parts of their lives.

At the end of the song, “Fame” is repeated 23 times, each “Fame” being a different note. The repetitions of “Fame” span an amazing four octaves.

Caller # 14 wins Legoland tickets when you hear the song play between two and three, 1-800-232-KRTH (5784).

I remember that song “Fame” by David Bowie and I also remember Irene Cara’s “Fame!” How many remember that one?
