Just as quick as the glimmer of excitement for a full on cross-country reunion tour from the surviving members of Buffalo Springfield was given, it was destroyed by the announcement from Richie Furay of postponement until the first of the year.

We know, it’s disheartening. It’s been 43 years in the making for members [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Neil Young[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Stephen Stills[/lastfm] and [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Richie Furay[/lastfm] to take the stage once again with their folk-rock anthems that spoke for a generation, and after rave reviews of their headlining reunion at Bonnaroo, fans were as excited as ever to see this influential band back in action.

But the good news is, it’s only a postponement, and the show will still go on at a later date. All 30 or more of them, so we shouldn’t feel so down.

Richie Furay confirmed the band’s decision to postpone their 30-date fall tour on his Facebook page, writing to fans:

“For those of you getting excited about the Buffalo Springfield fall tour – word has just come to me that it has been moved to the first of next year. I’m not going to spend a lot time here with details as you speculate among yourselves – there’s nothing to speculate about, the tour has simply been moved.”

The reformed group was supposed to embark on a 30+ cross-country tour in the fall with the anchors being in Los Angeles and New York. The group also headlined the Bonnaroo music and arts festival this year in Tennessee to an eruption of fan cheers as Young stating “We’re Buffalo Springfield, we’re from the past.”

Check out the band at their latest set from Bonnaroo playing “Keep On Rockin’ In The Free World” and cross your fingers that their reunion tour still happens!
