Did You Know: “Don’t Stop Believin'” By Journey

You’re listening for [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Journey[/lastfm]’s “Don’t Stop Believin'” on ‘Tickets @ 2’ this afternoon.

It’s Journey’s most enduring song, with a unique structure, which helps it to stick in your mind. Where most songs have a chorus that’s repeated several times, this one brings in its chorus only at the end.

Journey lead singer Steve Perry and guitarist Neal Schon are the credited songwriters, but the entire band contributed.

The was one of their first hits keyboard player Jonathan Cain played on. He replaced Gregg Rolle.

Lady Gaga, Elton John, Bruce Springsteen, Sting, Blondie and Shirley Bassey performed a version of this at the finale of a Rainforest Fund benefit at Carnegie Hall in May, 2010.

We’ll take caller # 14 when it plays between two and three to win Gordon Lightfoot concert tickets to see Gordon at UCLA’s Royce Hall. 1-800-232-KRTH (5784).
