His second project on the Disney Pearl Series, In The Key Of Disney will feature beloved Disney hits spanning the years all reworked to the voice of Brian Wilson. Wilson confirmed the release date of the album for October 25th.

Wilson worked with composer Paul Von Mertens to rework the Disney classics to give a distinctively Beach Boys spin on the children’s songs. Songs included on the covers album include “Baby Mine” (Dumbo), a rocking version of Elton John’s hit “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King” (The Lion King) and an instrumental take on “Heigh-Ho and Whistle While You Work” (Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs).

“Like every kid in America, I grew up loving Disney, especially the animated classics. The songs from those masterpieces were as much a part of my musical education as anything else. So it only made sense that I would want to put my spin on some of those truly great songs,” said Wilson.

He continued, “These days, I enjoy watching the classic Disney films with my own children and grandchildren. It’s fun to watch them discover the magic, both in the stories and characters, as well as in the music. I made this album for them, just as much as for me and for my fans, and I hope everyone enjoys it.”

The album will also include hits from newer Disney films including Toy Story and an homage to Pirates of the Caribbean with the line “Yo Ho (A Pirate’s Life for Me” worked in to the Snow White cover. It should be another Brian Wilson classic that both parents and children can enjoy!
