It’s a #1 winner from [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Chicago[/lastfm] on ‘Tickets @ 2’ today, “If You Leave Me Now.” Chicago’s bass player Peter Cetera wrote it and sang lead. After it reached #1 status, the band became known for its ballads that featured Cetera’s vocals and de-emphasized the horn section.

In the UK, this was Chicago’s only # 1 hit. It was the first Chicago single record to feature an acoustic guitar lead.

We’ll take caller #16 at 1-800-232-KRTH (5784) when we play it between two and for a pair of tickets to Brenton Wood’s “Sweet Old School Revue” featuring Evelyn ‘Champagne’ King at the San Manuel Indian Bingo and Casino Thursday October 6th, plus a ‘Slot-Play’ card and two Buffet Dinners!

  1. Rainbow says:

Yeah, I remember that song very well and plus their other classics, “Hard to Say I’m Sorry”, “Saturday in the Park” and of course, “If You Leave Me Now”.
