Did You Know: “Bad” By Michael Jackson

‘Tickets @ 2’ features a #1 “Bad” hit by [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Michael Jackson[/lastfm]. It’s a song Jackson wrote that crafted a new image for the singer by wearing leather, chains and acting tough. The title was hip as the word “Bad” implied seriously “cool.”

Jackson wanted the song to be a duet with [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Prince[/lastfm], but the idea fell through when the two had creative differences over lyrical content and Prince refused the project. Prince did say that he thought the song would be a hit whether he was in it or not.

When we play it between two and three we’ll take caller #16 to win a pair of tickets to see Melissa Manchester at Pepperdine College. 1-800-232-KRTH (5784).

I remember when this video came out. Great song, but I think this song was often “misinterpreted” because of it’s content. I don’t think a song has to be always terrible if there is some controversy in it; it depends on how it’s used. I guess if you don’t like the lyrics in it, don’t listen to it or if you just like the music, but not the words, then ignore it I guess.

I like a little bit of everythingi in terms of music (even some heavy rock sometimes when people say that it’s pure evil or because of the words, lyrics or the music itself). Different strokes for different folks I guess, but like I said. I like a little bit of everything in terms of music and I wouldn’t classify certain musics as being “BAD” (pun intended). I know what I like and that’s a little bit of everything.
