William Shatner Returns To The Final Frontier With Space-Themed Concept Album ‘Seeking Major Tom’

William Shatner is back in the spotlight a big way, but not in the role you would think. We all know Shatner as an eccentric character actor in TV and film, but little know about his other side project as a recording artist. Shatner has just released his third space-themed album Seeking Major Tom that features his spoken-word delivery style on covers of famous rock anthems from artists like [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]David Bowie[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Elton John[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Queen[/lastfm] and more!

To celebrate the release of his return to the final frontier, we talked to Shatner about his concept album and are giving you the details of a special meet and greet signing at Amoeba Music on Friday! Plus, hear a few clips from his newest album before you buy it — aren’t you just a little curious to hear “Rocket Man” ‘Shatnerized’?
