If you ever wondered what a knighted musician like Sir [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Paul McCartney[/lastfm] eats on a daily basis, you’ll soon be able to cook up your own decadent meals a-la-Paul.

The former Beatle is releasing his very own cookbook that features his favorite personal vegetarian recipes called The Meat Free Mondays Cookbook, to encourage others to go meatless one day of the week.

McCartney, who’s been a long time advocate for vegetarianism, gathered his most mouth-watering, meatless recipes for his new vegetarian cookbook with help of his daughters Stella and Mary. It’s all in part of his “Meat Free Mondays” campaign launched in 2009, which helps encourage a more socially responsible way of eating.

For those who just can’t give up their meat, McCartney understands, which is why he geared his cookbook to single out one day of the week for a meat-free meal.

“I think many of us feel helpless in the face of environmental challenges. Having one designated meat free day a week is actually a meaningful change that everyone can make, that goes to the heart of several important political, environmental and ethical issues all at once,” McCartney tells Gibson.com. “For instance it not only addresses pollution, but better health, the ethical treatment of animals, global hunger and community and political activism.”

The Meat Free Monday Cookbook includes enough recipes for an entire year of being meat free one day per week, with contributions from other famous vegetarians, Twiggy, Vivienne Westwood and Kevin Spacey.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner is served up for the next year courtesy of McCartney, and you can pick up the Meat Free Monday Cookbook on its scheduled release in March 2012!

Did he write lyrics to the book or did he just write it? I can see him writing a song called, “Meat Free Monday”. It could happen, right?
