Ringo Starr’s ‘2012’ Is All About Peace And Love

There’s hardly a moment when you don’t see former Beatle, [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Ringo Starr[/lastfm], waving the peace in the air and sticking by his mantra promoting “peace and love” in the world, and coming out on Tuesday, Jan. 31 (internationally on Monday, 1/30) is his anthem for 2012.

Starr’s anticipated 17th studio album, simply titled Ringo 2012, continues to follow along his good-natured outlook for making positive changes in the world, and he has some very special famous friends to help him spread those “peace and love” vibes in 2012!

“This is an anthem of peace and love,” Ringo tells USA Today. The album, Ringo 2012, is produced by the former Beatles drummer himself and contains special guest appearances from [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]The Eagles[/lastfm]’ Joe Walsh, Benmont Tench from [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers[/lastfm] and [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Eurythmics[/lastfm]’ Dave Stewart among many others.

The album includes two cover songs of “Think It Over” (originally by Buddy Holly and The Crickets) and “Rock Island Line” (Lead Belly), as well as two new reworkings of his own songs “Wings” and “Step Lightly.”
