Did You Know: “Thriller” By Michael Jackson

Listen for [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Michael Jackson[/lastfm]’s “Thriller” on ‘Tickets @ 2’ to win tickets to enjoy Pacific Symphony’s Valentine’s with Roberta Flack.

“Thriller” is a rare pop song with a horror theme with year round appeal. “The Monster Mash” had been around for awhile, but only comes out at Halloween.

Actor Vincent Price known for his work in horror films, did the narration at the end, including the evil laugh. Rod Temperton, a member of the disco group Heatwave wrote the song along with Jackson’s “Off The Wall” and “Rock With You.”

Thriller was by far the best selling album in the world. In the US it was overtaken by The Eagles Greatest Hits 1971-1975, but reclaimed the title after Jackson’s death.

When we play it between two and three we’ll take caller #20 at 1-800-232-KRTH (5784) to win those Roberta Flack tickets.
