On Tuesday’s installment of TMZ Live, head-honcho Harvey Levin called upon the authority of Motown greats [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Gladys Knight[/lastfm] and [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Stevie Wonder[/lastfm] to help determine one of the hardest unanswered questions in music…what is the greatest Motown song of all time?

While you’re scratching your head trying to answer that impossible question, find out what Gladys Knight had to say were the greatest Motown hits of all time!

Calling in to TMZ Live, Gladys Knight revealed to Harvey Levin what she considered to be the greatest hits to come out of the Motown era. She picked “Babylove” by the [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Supremes[/lastfm]; “Hitch Hike” by [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Marvin Gaye[/lastfm]; “Shop Around” by Smokey Robinson and The Miracles;  “My Girl” by [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]The Temptations[/lastfm]; and the entire album Songs In The Key Of Life by [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Stevie Wonder[/lastfm].

    I love Stevie Wonder’s “For Once in My LIfe”; it is one of my “Life Song’s” (there are more, but that is my personal favorite beause I DO HAVE SOME IN MY LIFE to LIVE FOR, myd arling Fee-Fi Fiona! Miss you honey! Keep BELIEVING sweetheart! I BELEIVE in the KINDNESS of STRANGERS!). That’s my fave!

    “I Can’t Help Myself (sugar pie honeybunch)” by the fabulous Four Tops. One of the greatest of all Motown songs.

    There is no way the Four Tops can be left off the list above. What’s up with that? Showing my age, I saw “the Tops” in concert at the Brown Derby in Hollywood in I believe it was
    1973 with Barbara Lewis. They were the best!!

    There are so many great Motown songs that I love, many of which I haven’t heard in years, it would be hard to pick the greatest one, but there are 2 Motown classics that would definately qualify for that, and they’re both by Marvin Gaye: ” Ain;t No Mountain High Enough” f/ Tammi Terrell, of course, and “What’s Going On” Now, of those two, that one should be classified as the greatest Motown song of all time!!!!!!
