It was an emotional and touching 90-minute interview with Whitney’s family remembering the good and bad moments of the singer’s troubled life and recalling the tragic news when they first found out about her death.

In the interview on Oprah’s Next Chapter, Oprah embraces 19-year-old Bobbi Kristina, who told her that she’s “doing as good as I possibly can” since her mother’s death. Even though she’s gone, Bobbi told Oprah that Whitney’s spirit is with her always.

“I can hear her voice in spirit talking to me, ‘Keep talking to me. I got you,’ ” says Bobbi. “She’s always with me. I can always feel her. I can always feel her with me. She always asked me,’Do you need me?’ And I caught myself, out of nowhere, I didn’t even know I said it, I said, ‘I’ll always need you.'”

Bobbi recalls spending her last day with her mother lying in her embrace. “It was so early in the morning. I went to go get her and I said, ‘Come lay with me,’ ” she says. “She stayed with me all night and all day. She was just rubbing my head and holding me. I just slept in her arms.”

Oprah also sat down with Whitney’s brother, Gary, and sister-in-law Patricia, who explained the moments of the day Whitney died in her hotel room at the Beverly Hilton. Patricia recalls going out for errands that morning, only to return in the afternoon to a frantic scene in Whitney’s hotel room.

“I knew something was wrong. I didn’t know what. I was just numb. I walked,” says Pat, according to USA Today. “As I got closer,” says Pat, “and I turn the corner, Mary’s at the door and she’s screaming, ‘Oh my God.’ I told her to stop. ‘Calm down, please.’ ”

Pat told Oprah that her brother and security guard, Ray, was trying to revive her to the point of exhaustion when Patricia told him to “let it go.”

“Then I saw her. She had a peaceful look on her face. She had a peaceful look,” said Patricia. She told Oprah that she misses Whitney’s laughter the most, and how she cared for the people she loved the most so much.

“She’s at peace. There are no more struggles. She doesn’t have to struggle with certain decisions. God’s got it. She’s got the ultimate protector, someone that she believed in, I mean truly believed in,” said Patricia.
