Face to Face with “Weird Al” Yankovic Web Series Debut

When you think of serious journalism, one name which probably doesn’t come to mind is “Weird Al” Yankovic.  Well that is about to change.  As of today, “Weird Al” has taken to the web with ten episodes of his brand new web series entitled Face to Face with “Weird Al” Yankovic.

The web series feature in-depth, hard hitting interviews with some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry.   In pure “Weird Al” fashion, he digs deep and asks the questions no one else will.  The debut webisode features big name stars Denzel Washington and Megan Fox.

The Downey, California native, best known for his incredible song parodies such as “Eat It” and “Fat” (parody of Michael Jackson’s “Beat It” and “Bad), got his first exposure on the airwaves of L.A. radio on the Dr. Domento show, a syndicated comedy program.  Al’s first introduction with Dr. Domento was at the age of 16, when the radio personality spoke at his school.  This gave Yankovic the opportunity to give Dr. Domento one of his homemade tapes with some of his parody songs, complete with the sound of his now trademark accordion.  Dr. Domento played the first song from the tape entitled “Belvedere Cruisin'” which was about his family’s Plymouth Belvedere, on his radio show, and the rest is history.

Yankovic’s brand new web series can be seen on the Nerdist Channel on YouTube with new episodes are premiering every other Tuesday.
