Born in London, Goodall is known to be the world’s leading expert on chimpanzees, and gained most of her popularity from her years of being an advocate and studying the relationships and behaviors of the endangered species.

In 1977, she established the Jane Goodall Institute, which is a non-profit organization which “empowers people to make a difference for all living things.”

The 124th Rose Parade, whose theme is “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!” takes place January 1, 2013 in Pasadena and is televised around the world.

Past Rose Parade grand marshals include J.R. Martinez, Iraq war veteran and “Dancing With The Stars” contestant (2012); Paula Deen, Food Network host (2011); “Sully” Sullenberger, Pilot of US Airways flight 1549 which landed in the Hudson River in NYC (2010); and actress Cloris Leachman (2009).

Well I’ll be a monkey’s uncle, good for her! I bet people are going “ape” over the news right? She must be the “gorilla” of somebody’s dreams, right? HA!
