There’s a bit of a debate at the Morning Show between Gary and Lisa about who first invented the high heel shoe. Lisa thinks it was a man, while Gary insists it was a woman.

After doing a bit of Googling with no definitive answer coming up, we’re leaving the question in your hands.

According to the always reliable┬ásource on Wikipedia, “Controversy exists over when high heels were first invented, but the consensus is that heels were worn by both men and women throughout the world for many centuries and for a variety of reasons.”

And according to The History Of High Heels, “Short-statured Italian bride Catherine d’Medici, married at 14 to the Duke of Orleans, wears shoes with two-inch heels to exaggerate her height. The high heel may have been invented by Leonardo da Vinci,” but who can really trust everything on the Internet.

So that doesn’t really solve anything, and now we leave the question up to you. What do you think…did a man or a woman invent the high heel?
