The actor who brought the iconic TV star ‘George Jefferson’ to life, Sherman Hemsley, has passed away at the age of 74, TMZ reports.

Hemsley passed away in his home in El Paso, Texas after his nurse found him unresponsive and called for help. His cause of death is yet unknown, but is believed to be from natural causes.

Herman starred in the hit CBS sitcom The Jeffersons (a spinoff from another hit sitcom, All In The Family) for 11 seasons from 1975 through 1985.

Sherman also dabbled in music and even released his best known single “Ain’t That A Kick In The Head” in 1989 and a full album Dance in 1992. Watch Sherman perform “Ain’t That A Kick In The Head” at the Soul Train Awards in ’92 complete with his signature dance moves.
