It’s a Fleetwood Mac hit on ‘Tickets @2’ today, “Don’t Stop.” It charted at #3 in 1977.

Christine Mc Vie wrote it about leaving the past behind. She and John McVie (Fleetwood Mac’s bass player) were splitting up, which inspired the lyrics. It caused awkward moments, since John had to play a song about him. Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks were also going through a breakup and writing songs about each other (Go Your Own Way,” and Mick Fleetwood was going through a divorce.

Bill Clinton used it as his theme song when he successfully ran for US President in 1992, he knew Fleetwood Mac would appeal to young voters.

When you hear it play between two and three we’ll take caller #7 at 1-800-232-KRTH (5784) to win a pair of tickets to see “Total Recall” in an air conditioned theatre, courtesy of Regal Entertainment Group.
