One of comedy’s pioneering women, Phyllis Diller, passed away in her Los Angeles home on Monday at the age of 95.

According to CBS LA, Diller began her career in 1952 on the show Phyllis Dillis, the Homely Friendmaker, before breaking out as a huge comedic force when she teamed up with Bob Hope on 23 TV specials and three movies in the ’60s.

Diller was known as much for her contagious cackling laugh and wild hair as she was for her classic self-deprecating humor and one liners. After news of her death, celebrities took to their Twitter to pay their respects to the star, including Ellen DeGeneres.

The talk-show host perfectly summed up Diller’s five-decade comedic career saying, “We lost a comedy legend today. Phyllis Diller was the queen of the one-liners. She was a pioneer.”

In honor of her legacy and influence on comedy that paved the way for so many other women comics, take a look back at some of her classic zingers! And don’t forget to let out your best Phyllis Diller laugh while you read.

  • Old age is when the liver spots show through your gloves.
  • I’m glad that beauty is only skin deep. Otherwise, I’d be rotten to the core.
  • Be nice to your children because they will be the ones who will choose your rest home.
  • The reason there are no women football leagues is that 11 of them would never wear the same outfit in public.
  • The best way to get rid of kitchen odors is to eat out.
  • Cleaning your house while your kids are still at home is like shoveling the sidewalk before it stops snowing.
  • No matter what you look like, marry a man your own age. Then as your beauty fades, so will his eyesight.
