Today's Tickets @ 2 Song: "Live And Let Die" by Paul McCartney

Songs With ‘Baby’ In The Title

The old rule of thumb in the music business is if you want a hit record that will sell millions of copies, just add “Baby” in the title.

Many artists have followed this formula to score top ten hits, including current teen heart-throb Justin Bieber, so we came up with just a few hits from the past that heated up the charts with that irresistible “Baby” love.

“Baby I Need Your Loving” — The Four Tops

  • Released in 1964 by The Four Tops, the group’s original version of the song only cracked the top 20 on the Billboard charts, but Johnny Rivers’ 1967 cover ran all the way up to No.3 on the charts. Listen here.

“Baby Love” — The Supremes

  • With Diana Ross sweetly cooing the chorus of “Baby Love” it’s not surprising The Supremes topped the charts for 4 weeks with their second No.1 hit.  Listen here.

“Baby, I Love Your Way” — Peter Frampton

  • One of the best compliments a guy can give to his girl, Frampton came up with the simplest, yet effective phrase to sum up all the wonderful qualities of his lady, plus earn him a hit at No.12 on the charts.

“Be My Baby” — The Ronettes

  • The first song from the Ronettes produced by Phil Spector, “Be My Baby” nearly reached the top of the charts at No.2, but has remained one of the greatest songs of all time, according to Rolling Stone. Listen here.

“Don’t Worry Baby” — The Beach Boys

  • Following in The Ronettes’ footsteps, Brian Wilson attempted to capture that famous “wall of sound” heard in “Be My Baby,” and successfully earned The Beach Boys a beloved “baby” hit of their own. Listen here.

More songs with “Baby” in the title:

  • “There Goes My Baby” — The Drifters
  • “Since I Lost My Baby” — The Temptations
  • “Ooh Baby Baby” — Smokey Robinson & The Miracles
  • “Love To Love You Baby” — Donna Summer
  • And we can’t forget, “Baby Got Back” by Sir Mix A Lot
