The year 2013 will have all eyes and ears on Chaka Khan! The soul diva is stepping back into the studio to record new music for a gospel and jazz project, all to celebrate her 40th anniversary of her music career.

“Being in the studio makes me very happy,” says Chaka in a press statement. “I am so excited about the new music and the direction on this project. We are having a super great time on tour and the opportunity to connect with my fans is one of the greatest gifts ever.”

In addition to new music, fans can look forward to seeing Chaka live for an international and US tour plus several other key events taking place over the year-long 40th anniversary celebration.

Leading up to the big 40th anniversary next year, Chaka is wrapping up 2012 with tours in Europe and Asia through October and November and will later join the David Foster and Friends tour.
