K-EARTH 101 Listeners Name Songs That Say ‘Thank You’

In honor of Thanksgiving this week, we asked listeners to come up with songs that mention “Thank You” in them! Check out the songs that give thanks through music and add more to the list!

Sly & The Family Stone — “Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin)” (1969)

Considered one of the most influential funk songs of all time, this single stayed at number one on the soul single charts for five weeks, and reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in February 1970.

Sam & Dave — “I Thank You” (1968)

They have a lot of thanks to give for this song after reaching #9 on the Billboard Pop Singles chart and #4 on the R&B chart.

ABBA — “Thank You For The Music” (1977)

We should be the ones thanking ABBA for their music over the years!

Led Zeppelin — “Thank You” (1969)

The first song singer Robert Plant ever wrote all the lyrics to, and is known as being a popular live song that showcases an extended keyboard solo from John Paul Jones.

The BeatlesĀ  — “Thank You Girl” (1963)

This Beatles B-side hit reached #35 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the spring of 1964.

Bon Jovi — “Thank You For Loving Me” (2000)

The third single from their Grammy-nominated album Crush, Bon Jobi and Richie Sambora wrote this song, which according to Bon Jovi, was inspired by Brad Pitt’s character in Meet Joe Black.

Alanis Morrisette — “Thank U” (1998)

Alanis Morrisette wrote this song after returning from a trip in India and was the center for some controversy over her music video which pictures the singer nude in various streets of New York.

Dido — “Thank You” (2000)

This single from Dido’s debut album No Angel was her biggest hit in the U.S., reaching #3 on the Billboard Hot 100.
