As a special Valentine’s Day treat, The K-EARTH 101 Morning Show welcomed hunky actor Josh Duhamel this morning to talk about his new romantic movie Safe Haven opening in theaters today!

This latest Nicholas Sparks film adaptation co-stars Julianne Hough and follows her character who is on the run from something troubling in her past and makes her way to a small North Carolina town where she meets Josh’s character.

Josh says he had no problem finding on screen chemistry with Julianne, who he says was made to play the role.

“She kind of was this girl,” said Josh on Julianne. “There’s something really relatable about her. A movie like this hinges on the connection between the two romantic leads, and it was really easy to find that connection with her.”

Having just wrapped up shooting in the summer, Josh tells us that he almost didn’t take on the role when it was first offered.

“I always liked the story…it was just a matter whether or not I could do anything interesting with the character at first. Then I read it again and it got a lot better,” said Josh. “It was just one of those things you couldn’t pass up.”

This romantic-thriller makes for the perfect date night movie to take your Valentine, but what does Josh plan on doing with his wife, Fergie, for Valentine’s Day?

“Make sweet, sweet love, Lisa. That’s it,” he jokes, later addressing the numerous rumors that his wife is pregnant.

“My mom goes, ‘so you’ve been pregnant now for nineteen months. What are you having, an elephant?'” laughs Josh. “We’re doing it in our own time. It will happen.”
