Did You Know: “I Can’t Go For That (No Can Do)” By Hall & Oates

The ‘tickets @ 2′ song this afternoon is one of the best from 1982, “I Can’t Go For That (No Can Do)” a # 1 hit for Hall & Oates.

It was a phrase Daryl Hall used when he was pressured to go along with the crowd against his wishes. His girlfriend Sara Allen wrote the lyrics. Michael Jackson confessed that this song greatly influenced his song “Billie Jean.”

Besides the great bass line, an old Roland CompuRhythm box was used, in short a drum machine.

When we play it between two and three we’ll take lucky caller #13 at 1-800-232-KRTH (5784) to win ’em before you can buy ’em, a pair of tickets to see Ray Manzarek and Robbie Krieger of The Doors at the Pacific Amphitheatre this summer.
