Join me along with celebrity guest Ed Begley Jr., Jack McGee and Mark Moses of the popular television show Mad Men Sunday April 7th at Woodley Park for the “Walk in No Shoes” 10k or 5k run.

Also walk a 1k in ‘no shoes’ to show your support for the people of Sudan. Over 3 million people have been killed and millions are suffering starvation, torture, and other atrocities.

I had a chance to speak with the organizer of the relief walk, Elias Chavando, about why he started the Sudan relief fund to help those in need.

“What the Sudan relief fund does is provide hope to these people,” said Elias. “They build hospitals, schools and refugee camps. All the net funds go directly to the people in Sudan.”

He explains that money from donations goes towards providing those in need in Sudan the tools necessary to keep alive.

“We give them the tools so they can harvest their own food. Forty one dollars buys a refugee kit…with forty one dollars we can actually start a life of a family that has displaced,” said Elias.

Listen to our complete interview with Elias Chavando to learn more about the Sudan relief fund and how you can participate in the Walk In No Shoes charity event.

Register for this fun family event to raise critical funds for the Sudan Relief Fund. Register at or make a donation here, and mark Sunday April 7th on your calender to be with us.
