Stevie Nicks Says Reese Witherspoon Is ‘Too Old’ To Play Her In A Movie

In the past, Fleetwood Mac’s enigmatic frontwoman Stevie Nicks had once named actress Reese Witherspoon as one of her top choices to portray her in a movie biopic, but it seems like she’s changing her mind.

Nicks told ET Canada recently that she now doesn’t think Witherspoon would be a fitting choice to play her because she’s “too old” for the part.

“I’ve already told [Reese] she’s almost too old,” Nicks told ET Canada at the premiere of her new documentary In Your Dreams. “I love her, but she’s like, ‘I could play your mother.’ I’m like ‘O.K.'”

Witherspoon, 37, might not be the ideal age Nicks, 64, has in mind to portray her in a film about the singer’s early days in Fleetwood Mac and solo career, but Witherspoon isn’t a stranger to playing iconic musicians in movies.

At age 30, Witherspoon earned herself an Oscar for her portrayal as June Carter in the 2005 Johnny Cash biopic Walk The Line.

If Reese Witherspoon isn’t in the running to play Stevie Nicks, who do you think should be cast as the singer for a biopic?
