As we previously reported, Bob Weir, guitarist/singer for the Grateful Dead, collapsed on stage during a Furthur concert last Thursday night (April 25th) at the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, New York.

Furthur, which also features John Kadlecik (formerly of Grateful Dead tribute act Dark Star Orchestra) and the Grateful Dead’s Phil Lesh, was playing the ninth and final show of their residency at the Capitol when Weir collapsed during the performance of “Unbroken Chain.”

Two days after Weir’s collapse, Furthur closed out their spring tour in Atlantic City. The guitarist was back and according to JamBase “seemed to brush off the incident.”

Now, to accommodate Weir’s recovery, Furthur and Weir have announced they will not be performing at the BottleRock Napa Valley Festival in Napa, California.

A post to reads: Due to unforeseen circumstances, Furthur regretfully will be unable to appear as scheduled at BottleRock Napa Valley on Thursday, May 9. Grateful Dead & Furthur Co-Founder Bob Weir, is unable to perform for the next several weeks. Bob looks forward to resuming his “Weir Here” broadcasts from TRI Studios in mid to late June and performing his Solo acoustic shows June 26-30.

Furthur featuring Phil Lesh & Bob Weir look forward to returning to the road as scheduled on July 11 in Brooklyn for their Summer tour, which carries them through early October on the West Coast.

BottleRock Napa Valley will showcase notable acts including The Black Keys, Kings of Leon, The Avett Brothers, Alabama Shakes, Primus and more. A replacement act for Furthur’s headlining Thursday night slot has not been announced.

Furthur will return to Ohio this July when they headline the 17th annual All Good Music Festival and Camp Out at Legend Valley just outside of Columbus. Also scheduled to perform are Dark Star Orchestra, Primus, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals and more. See the full lineup and get more information HERE.
