Two weeks after being thrown from a moving vehicle on an English highway, George Michael has been released from the hospital.

On May 28, a note was posted to the singer’s website stating, “He continues to rest and recuperate. He is well and thanks everyone for all the messages of support.”

Michael was reportedly thrown from the passenger side of a vehicle moving 70 mph on May 16 and airlifted to a nearby hospital. The BBC initially reported that a man in his 40s “sustained a head injury” and that “the exact circumstances of the accident were unclear at the time.”

Hours after he was taken to the hospital, a spokesman for Michael confirmed that the singer had been involved in an accident. He stated that Michael had suffered only “superficial cuts” and was “fine.” The spokesman gave no further details of the incident.
